What weyt.ai is

weyt.ai is a free (in beta), web-based strength training app with a scoreboard. You log a workout in two taps or lift through a live set-by-set session with a rest clock and the plates to load drawn for you, and every set feeds three deterministic scores (Gains, Balance, Routine) shown as verdicts. Your best bench press and squat set a Weyt Age against two ladders: the general population (Cooper Institute and ACSM bench-press norms) and lifters who track (Strength Level standards); one bench set on the landing page gives a first number in thirty seconds without an account. A weekly coach review (Anthropic Claude) reads every set and commits to one change; the coach is one tap away on every screen. Progression is written into your plan after each session by double progression. It installs on a phone as a web app (PWA); there is no app store listing yet.

What Fitbod is

Fitbod, as of 2026, is a workout app built around algorithm-generated sessions: you tell it your equipment, your goal and how you feel, and it writes the day's workout, adjusting exercise selection and loads to your recent training and the muscle groups it considers recovered. It ships native iOS and Android apps with an Apple Watch app, an exercise library with demonstrations, and integrations with the phone's health platforms. It is a paid subscription after a short free trial.

Who should pick which

Pick Fitbod if
  • You want to walk into the gym and be told exactly what to do today, with no plan of your own to maintain.
  • You want a native app from the App Store or Play Store with watch logging today.
  • You train with whatever equipment is around and want the workout rewritten to it each time.
  • You already pay for Fitbod and like the generated sessions.
Pick weyt.ai if
  • You want to know how strong you actually are: a Weyt Age against real population norms, by age and sex, from one bench set.
  • You would rather own a plan that adapts by clear rules than be handed a new workout you did not choose.
  • You want receipts after every session and a weekly review that commits to one change and says what would prove it wrong.
  • You want free in beta with no ads and no subscription.

Plenty of lifters run both: a logger they already like for the gym floor, and weyt.ai for the scoreboard and the coach. Nothing here is a knock on Fitbod; it is a different bet about what a training app is for.

Questions

Does weyt.ai generate workouts like Fitbod?

Partly. weyt.ai loads a split for you at sign-up from your equipment and days, and its AI designer can draft a complete workout from your history when you ask. After that the plan is yours: it adapts by double progression after every session rather than being regenerated each day. Fitbod regenerates the workout every session from your recovery and equipment.

Which one tells me if I am getting stronger?

weyt.ai is built around that question: a Weyt Age ranked against population norms, a Gains verdict from e1RM trends per lift, PR and eight-week-best receipts after each session, and a weekly review with one committed change. Fitbod tracks your history and adapts loads, but it does not rank you against population norms or publish a strength age.

What does weyt.ai cost compared with Fitbod?

weyt.ai is free while in beta with every feature included and no credit card. A Pro tier is planned and pricing may change before launch. Fitbod is a paid subscription after a short free trial; check their site for current prices.
